"Cosmic Kraut Jam"

"I've been a fan of German trio Trigon's brand of instrumental jazz infused psychedelic hard rock for over 20 years. The all improvised Cosmic Kraut Jam is their first new album since 2018's 30 Jahre Traumzeit and it's a smokin' set. Propelled by Stefan Lange's bass and Rudi Metzler's drums, Rainer Lange's guitar forge's a path that is equal parts seductive melody, lead guitar shredding, and rockin' jamming.
The set kicks off with the 23 minute 'Achtung Traumspoiler', a steadily rolling rocker that showcases Rainer's lyrically emotional jazz-psych leads. I love the low end rumbling bass lines that serve as a droning counterpoint to Rainer's guitar on what builds up to the power rocking 'Guten Morgen Aurora'. 'Hinterm Ereignishhorizont' is a brief but funky rip it up rocker that leaves the listener breathless before the cool grooving but chunky psychedelic rocking final track, 'Setzt das Sonnensegel'.
Imagine a blend of Mahavishnu Orchestra and early Guru Guru and you might get something like Trigon. I could blissfully listen to these guys jam all day long."
